How we poll New Mexico voters
Every survey starts from the New Mexico voter file. Interviews are offered in English and Spanish, by live phone and text-to-web. How we poll →

Questions about polling in New Mexico
Does Keating Research poll in New Mexico?
Yes. Keating Research polls New Mexico voters statewide and by legislative district for candidates, campaigns, public agencies, and organizations. Our 2026 work included statewide polls on the Public Regulation Commission and a courts legal helpline, and a survey of Democratic primary voters.
Do you interview New Mexico voters in Spanish?
Yes. Hispanic voters are a larger share of the electorate in New Mexico than in any other state, and we offer every interview in English or Spanish, by phone and online.
How does Keating Research build a New Mexico poll?
We draw the sample from the New Mexico voter file and set completes by quota to a modeled likely electorate for the specific election: party registration, including voters who decline to state a party, age, gender, ethnicity, and region, from the Albuquerque metro to the north, the south, and the east side of the state.
Do you poll primaries in New Mexico?
Yes. Since 2026, New Mexico’s primaries are semi-open: voters who decline to state a party can choose either major party’s ballot, while party members vote only in their own. That makes the primary electorate harder to predict, so we model it from the voter file, district by district, including which unaffiliated voters are likely to take part, and we surveyed June 2026 Democratic primary voters after the election on how they decided.
Can Keating Research meet in person in New Mexico?
Yes. We are a Colorado and Mountain West polling firm and travel throughout the region, including Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Las Cruces, for client meetings, retreats, and presentations.
